Brainheart Guidance was formed by Anna Katja von Elbe and Jonathan Eastman in March of 2004 to offer workshops, training and mentoring in Dr. Becky Bailey’s Conscious Discipline® for teachers, parents, mental health professionals and other child caregivers.  Brainheart Guidance also offers teambuilding games, individual, group, and family consulting.

Katja von Elbe is well-known in the Miami community as a teacher trainer, adjunct professor in  Early Childhood, parent educator and presenter at educational conferences. Her association with Dr. Becky Bailey began eighteen years ago when, as a team teacher at Miami Dade College Preschool Lab, she first attended a workshop with Dr. Bailey and began implementing positive discipline strategies in her classroom. Katja continued to grow personally and share professionally while working in Head Start and as a teacher in the MDCPS Pre-K Program for Children with Disabilities for which she also provided in-service training. With extensive training and mentoring from Dr. Becky Bailey, she is the first Certified Conscious Discipline® Instructor in South Florida and a member of the select team of Loving Guidance Associates. Katja presents workshops in both English and Spanish.

Jonathan Eastman has utilized his Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood teaching Pre-K to 2nd graders and for thirty years as a children’s entertainer, storyteller and gamesmaster, known for his ability to create rapport and cooperative play experiences. He is a graduate of Barry University’s Dual Master’s program in Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling, and a Certified Conscious Discipline® Instructor. Besides providing workshops for school staff and parent groups where the voice and experience of a father is much appreciated, Jonathan consults individuals, couples and families and leads team building game sessions for adults and children in many settings.
